There's a little bit about my books on here, and a little about me. I spend much of my time working on disruptive products, enjoying my incredible family, and writing books... most of them about this age of self discovery.
Book of Love is a gift that you create for someone special and a practice that deepens your relationship.
So Many Raisins to be Happy is a child's look at happiness and where to find it.

Book of Love

A gift of appreciation to remind someone they’re remarkable

Fill these pages with something you love about someone every day for 30 days. Then this book becomes a gift for them.

We're so lucky to have people that warm our lives and make us smile. But even though they're cherished, they can sometimes feel unseen, and so many joyful moments slip away without acknowledgement.  Which is the reason for this book.

This appreciation practice captures some of the beautiful times when love shines. And as you write them down, you create a treasured gift to share with them. It's a gift--a gift that is created out of a heart practice.

So Many Raisins to be Happy

Sometimes happiness finds us, and sometimes we need to know where to look for it. So Many Raisins to be Happy is the story of a little raisin who gets through a challenging day with the help of some friends. It was written to help develop mindfulness and appreciation in young readers, and build an awareness of the impact their kindness can have.
 Here are a few pages...

An earnest, good-hearted rhyming picture book that shows how sadness and happiness can be a matter of awareness and perspective.

 --Kirkus Reviews

Here's what readers are saying...

What a refreshing perspective on life in a beautifully written and illustrated story. JC Baldwin uses a fun play on words to show how a sad little raisin, encouraged by others, learns to find something to be grateful for in every circumstance. As a teacher of three and four year olds, I look forward to integrating this book of wisdom and insight into my curriculum. Not only does this piece demonstrate how to find the positive, but throughout the book these little characters collaborate to inspire each other to find “raisins” to be happy. What a great message to share with young and old alike…a message that transcends the ages!  --Janet H.

A sheer delight! The magnificent illustrations draw one in. This is a book for the young and the old, and the in-between; the happy and the miserable. Its colors lift one into another world, and send one fluttering off on flying paintings, or having a first ride mid-air on a leaf, high above the earth below. One doesn't need to be four to enjoy the fun! And most of all, it invites one to be aware like the discreet little caterpillar who is ever present, though sometimes behind the scenes, and to take it all in.   --Sophia T.

I am a kindergarten teacher and love how this book reinforces gratitude and awareness of our surroundings in such a positive way. It's certainly not just for children! I look forward to reading this book to my students at the start of the new school year and use it as a resource throughout the school year, to build appreciation for all that we have and an overall sense of mindfulness.

What a delightful story! An excellent way to start young children thinking about mindfulness and gratitude. Also an excellent reminder for everyone else!   --Jen B.

…The way we think is critical to happiness, and J.C. helps develop that concept with a simple graceful story. Helping children develop their awareness and enthusiasm…I highly recommend this book for all of those helping to shape a better future.   --Jim G.

A wonderful book packed with wisdom and insight, this tale reminds us that gratitude can turn your day around and that a positive attitude can be infectious. It is beautifully written with charming illustrations. Our baby girl Lumina loves it and we enjoy reading it to her over and over.    --Zum

A sophisticated children's book with teachings of happiness for both children and adults. This book gives young children the foundation for positive thinking through the sweetest of stories. In Baldwin's trademark style, this book also provides subtle, but witty humor for parents to appreciate. And these are just a few of many raisins to read this book!    --Julie B.

Such an unbelievably sweet and uplifting book! I learn something new every time that I read it. I highly recommend it for children and adults of all ages.   --Sheree S.
